2021 Selling Strategy

Anyone else been tempted by the seller’s market in 2021? How about being overwhelmed? Intimidated? Excited?

Whatever category you fall into, the seller’s market is unlike any other market we’ve seen in the past few years. How so? A new strategy has been implemented that could change the way real estate is conducted.

Rather than simply listing a home and having open houses every Sunday until it sells, houses are flying off the market as soon as they are listed.

One pro of houses flying off the market is that sellers sell their homes quickly. One con is that if you are not making an offer the day the house is listed, you miss your chance. Another con is that a seller might miss a great opportunity by being too quick to take an offer.

How do we fix this? We extend the selling time.

New Listing Strategy

Extend the selling time? Sounds confusing right? When a house is listed, we want it to be sold fast! As a real estate agent, I get this and celebrate this but there’s also another strategy for times like these.

Rather than selling a home to the first buyer, I encourage my sellers to list their homes and wait a week. At the end of that week, we’ll compile all the offers and sift through the best choice for them.

This not only helps sellers get the best deal, but it also helps buyers who work 9-5 jobs or have busy days snag a chance at getting their dream home.
