Get Your House Ready for Spring
Spring is nearly here, which means sunshine and lots of time outside. One way to get mentally, emotionally and physically ready for Spring is to spruce up your house. It’s important to be intentional with the space you spend most of your time. The better it feels to you, the more relaxed you will be. Here are some good ideas to make sure your house is in tip-top shape and ready to tackle Spring!
Map Out Your Landscape
Now is the perfect time to map out where you want certain flowers and vegetables for your front and back yard. Try grabbing a pencil and paper and sketching out where you think the best location is for each plant. Ensure each place gets enough sun so you can be strategic when it comes time for planting.
Plant a Vegetable Garden
Now is the perfect time to start planting vegetables in your garden. Broccoli, carrots, beets, and many others can be started now to eat fresh in the Spring.
Deep Clean Your House
Spring cleaning is a thing, but why would you spend all your time deep cleaning your house when it’s beautiful outside? Rather than waste a beautiful Spring day, start deep cleaning now on the cold days. You know … the days when you can’t go outside because the wind makes it feel insanely cold? These are the perfect days to dust the baseboards, deep clean the showers and tubs, and srub the cabinets. If you start now, all you have to do is open the windows on those nice Spring days so you can let the fresh air in while you enjoy basking in the sun.
Get Crafty
Need some positivity in your life? Try making things for your house that are filled with bright colors and festive decor. Perhaps it’s making a wreath or creating a centerpiece for your dining room table. If you make it now, as soon as Spring hits you can hang it up or set it out to maximize the season.

Declutter Your Home
If you are selling your house, this is a great time to start going through one cabinet at a time to eliminate the number of things you have to move when it comes time. Don’t overwhelm yourself. If you start now, you can tackle all the storage spaces and wherever else you have hidden objects. It will make your life a lot easier once it comes time to put that “For Sale” sign in your front yard. Even if you aren’t considering selling your house, decluttering can be freeing and make you feel so much more relaxed in your own space. It’s a win-win for all who are involved.
